THE CHARITIES:
It is always difficult to decide which charities should benefit from fund raising activities, especially when there are so many deserving causes. We have decided to choose 3 charities to work with
ØChildren In Need
Ø The Sickle Cell Society
ØCancer awareness
Children in need For every penny donated to the Children in Need Appeal, a penny will go towards projects helping disadvantaged children in the UK. We are able to make this promise because the charity uses its investment income to cover all operational costs. Every year, thanks to public donations and the amazing efforts of fundraisers, schools, businesses and our corporate partners, we are able to provide support to thousands of youngsters aged 18 and under.
Sickle cell society Sickle Cell Disorders are a group of genetic diseases that affect the red blood cells of people with the condition. They can cause bouts of extreme pain and can cause permanent damage to many different organs. The Sickle Cell Society was first set up as a registered charity in 1979. It was formed by a group of patients, parents and health professionals who were all concerned about the lack of understanding and the inadequacy of treatment for sufferers of sickle cell disorders. every sickle cell sufferer has the right to quality care. This can only be achieved if funding is made available to educate health carers and other professionals about the condition. The Society aims to provide this.
Cancer awareness Sadly, one in nine women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives – that’s why supporting Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work with your own fundraising is so important
