This is terribly sad. You see a family torn apart because of molestation. Mo’Nique’s brother and family went on Oprah to talk about the abuse she suffered at the hands of her brother. She was molested by her brother from age 7-11. She didn’t get the courage to tell her mom until 15-years-old. Consequently, the family have been torn sense then.

Molestation is a terrible disease.  It’s like a domino effect.  Her brother was molested at an early age and it caused him to continue the cycle.  The parents were stuck between a rock and a hard place because they didn’t know which one of their children to believe.    Sad…

Mo’Nique have been estranged from her family for a few years now.  I can’t say that I blame her.  Maybe the memories are too much to cope with.  And in my honest opinion, her brother didn’t seem too broke up about what he did. His apology seemed half-assed and insincere.  I don’t know if he’s doing it because he’s really sorry or if he wants to ride her coattail.    I really feel sorry for her and her parents because that’s a horrible burden to bear.

Parents, WATCH YOUR CHILDREN! Never trust people with your most prize possessions.  I’ve witnessed this type of thing happen so many times over the years…to little boys and girls alike.  It’s a lot of sick bastards out here preying on the innocent.  And we’ve all witnessed the lasting effect it has on the victims.  I pray for Mo’s family and all the families who are dealing with something similiar.
