Bread? We don’t need no stinking bread!

The KFC Double Down maybe the most ridiculous sandwich a fast food restaurant has ever made. Some person at KFC who is charge of the menu is just bored at work and seeing how far he can push America. He is just sitting there thinking, “hmmm… what’s the craziest sandwich I can think of. Ok, ok. We obviously start with Chicken. Then let’s throw some bacon on there, because people love bacon. And then of course some cheese. Hmmm… Pepper Jack or Swiss? Screw it, throw them both on there. Throw a little Colonel’s sauce on there…. hmmmm… and what type of bread? Screw it, let’s just get two pieces of Chicken and put all the junk in between the chicken and call it a sandwich.” Congratulations random KFC Menu guy, you have sufficiently shook whatever trust I had in the fast food industry. No BREAD? Come on. Maybe you catch the people on the South Beach Diet. The “Carbs are the enemy” type people. But you are not pulling this fast one on me. I’m not even going to refer to this as a sandwich. I don’t even know what this is but its got to stop. Wikipedia reads: “A sandwich is a food item consisting of two or more slices of bread with one or more fillings between them…” Who is going to argue with Wikipedia? It’s like the Pope: infallible. Probably a bad example considering recent news but I digress.

A wise man once told me, “Bread makes the sandwich.” In my opinion, the Federation of Fast Food Characters should have a sit down chat with the Colonel and discuss proper sandwich making techniques. (I’m looking at you; Ronald, The King, Hamburglar, Jack in the Box, and Wendy.) No Bread; no sandwich. This may be a difficult concept for a civilian to understand but being a commisioned officer, I felt the Colonel understood this. I guess not. For shame.
