As of this afternoon Tila Tequila has withdrawn from the drivetime interview with DJDrapes citing “professional differences”. We thank everybody who took interest in this event and/or  had an opinion on it.

Since the news came out that @DJdrapes had a very “high profile” interview to conduct at our London studio, he (and I by association ) have been catching an immense amount of heat . Mainly from angry Americans who flooded Drapes’ timeline with links to stories of scandal and urges to not interview this person at all . Tila Tequila has a “reputation” for being an odd character, of “low morals and poor choice” .. oh and a public liar and hoaxer  added to attention seeking to the Nth degree In America.. not the UK . You see, bar the VH1 reality shows (A Shot At Love 2 With Tila Tequila) little about her and her notorious antics are  known by the general UK masses.

The twitter complaints are in there 100′s and the whole @djdrapes interview saga has even reached the Anti-Tila blogs. Accused of  and document for being a racist and a heartless media monkey Tila is here to introduce herself to a lucrative, sterling-laden  UK audience in the hope that she can make a success of her career including a controversial pop track call “I love my DJ”. I say ‘I love’ because that’s the clean version of the title.

Her detractors, ex-fans and haters hope that the up-coming interview is full of questions they’d wish to ask about the alleged social atrocities committed back on her home soil. The problem there is that these people don’t know how the radio industry works, especially in the UK. For all we know the interview may be stifled by an exclusion list which is sometimes provided by a persons manager in order to protect a desired image. Knowing full well that the UK is new to Tila, I’m guessing that this might be the case and we will be presented with a long set of questions we’re not allowed to ask  and subjects we cannot touch on. As was

the case with many singers/actors/public figures being frogmarched off a studio set mid-interview by an angry PR agent.

If Tila has nothing to hide or be ashamed of OR if the PR/management team haven’t done their homework OR even if they all decide that even bad publicity is more than good for this particular project, the aforementioned list may not materialise at all and it will be a honest , frank and very controversial session . We have been interviewing the broad scope stars for a long time from the lowly up-and-comer to the top ranking upper echelon of  the entertainment industry and with that comes the guarantee that  we won’t be asking what Tila’s favourite colour is and who is on her ipod right now.

Whatever the outcome  it is going to be a very interesting day for the drivetime crew and Westside FM as a station

Sunday night  Dj Drapes will be on hand to answer all questions  as to why he accepted this interview and what he hopes to achieve as the session develops.
Wednesday Tila tequila herself is scheduled to enter our building and sit down with one of the best drive time presenters on our level of radio.

This is  not about , patriotism , personal hatred, or jumping on a lynch-mobs bandwagon with pitchforks  and torches. This Is however about being a professional presenter ,maintaining credibility  and professional acumen on a legal station that is climbing in popularity on a weekly basis.

She is here for a reason, we are speaking to her for a reason.
This question still remains unanswered:-

It only sold 7,900 copies.  Well damn…(Gucci voice).  What is that? Triple Styrofoam?  No wonder she raped Nas pockets. Her spirit must have  told her to save something for a rainy day.

@DJDrapes , @illatek and myself @Rudedj hosted this years Acton carnival as part of the Ealing Summer Festival season .The park was packed , the sun was shining , the acts were amazing  and the crowd was massive… and LIVE. I have managed to do this event every year for 3 years and it just keeps getting better. we all had a go at beating the MASS ELECTRIC SLIDE RECORD and we are in the process of verification. More than 1500 people all doing it (some badly but who cares ) and we had quite a few people pass through including MoBO award winning entertainer/presenter @phoebeOnemusic and pone of the UKs best Hip hop artists @pyrelli. Sounds were provided by the legendary Intermate Connection sound system (@ic_sounds) @Eezy_kay. All the right ingredients for an excellent day

More of our troops turned up to support the cause, including DJ ZEN  Jammer , Flygirl, Miss J and the great stage acts too including reggae legends Don Campbell , John Maclean and Sanda Cross.
