AT A VIDEO SHOOT HANGING WITH THE DIRECTOR . HOW WE ROLL

Dynamic Jen and DJ Sammy J present the Xposure every Thursday on on LEGAL radio. Trained radio professionals  with a real passion for music. When the show started it was only me , by myself playing global new black music from Europe and the USA. as a follow on from a poscast i used to have called  “the Rudecast” wayyy back in 2005. I was asked by the station bosses to check out a young lady who’d just graduated from training as I asked for her to come in to see me . She introduced  herself as Sammy J . The thing  about Sam is her vast knowledge of Hiphop and Uk “urban( still hate that word)” music . Alot of it beyond her years . Not withstanding the fact that her local area isn’t known for any hiphop,R&B or grime music I was simply amazed at her passion  and knowledge for black music. So it was the two of us writng the shows with all content organized and produced by us. Still we needed more as the show grew.

Jennifer was working on the Drivetime shows on westside and although she enjoyed it immensley it wasn’t something she could call her own  and it didn’t play any of the music she was reallyinterested in. So, I approached  Jen and made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. That was to join the XPOSURE  show. Her respect in the uk music industry is enviable  as she as she is often asked to sing hooks and appear in videos for various artists. On top of all that she also has  a couple of top selling Mix Cds to her credit . Since then we all agreed to channel our resources into championing UK music specifically.

Now we have established  our fanbase with me taken more of a back seat in order to let the girls ” do them “. We are known , we are respected, hell we’ve been  copied a bunch of times  but we’re not about to let a cheap imitation stop us from what we did first and what we do best.

Pheobe One is one of those people I bump into all the time throughout my life. She has a 3 hour weekend show [The Block Party] on London’s Choice FM but she is also an excellent singer and award winning rap artist. She’s always been a performer and is such a lovely person too. (I’ll have that £5 when you’re ready ). Being in the position she is , she gets to do things like ……

Now, you know me, always supporting somebody , Always putting people on . Despite my nick-name I do have the capacity to be a nice guy, sometimes to my detriment. These girls work bloody hard promoting themselves and have a more than decent product. They  also pride themselves on actually being able to mix. I aint heard that yet but if they can I’ll let you know . I can’t stand DJs that cannot mix for toffee or shit. Might as well use a frikking ipod otherwise.
